About Lutz Asset Research

Kerry Lutz is the founder and president of Lutz Asset. He began learning the skills and techniques of asset tracking and debt recovery while working at Lutz Appellate Services, which was the nation's largest appellate printing company. During his time at the family-run printing business, Kerry was often involved in internal collections. The frustration and expense of collections convinced Kerry that his company would be best served if he pursued a law degree. After graduating from New York Law School in 1984, Kerry had the knowledge and the training to bring the company's debtors into court.

Kerry's interest in the field, combined with his growing understanding of technology, was the genesis of Lutz Asset. While still with Lutz Appellate Services, Kerry began working to locate and verify debtors' assets for creditors. Lutz Asset helped recover more than $300 million for its clients. Lutz Asset developed techniques for investigating databases, account histories and financial records that would become the basis for his later work.

In 1997, he sold Lutz Appellate Service to Counsel Press. Since that time Kerry has devoted himself fully to Lutz Asset as well as founding a law firm devoted to collection of mega-judgments Kerry Lutz, P.C., which has specialized in targeted legal strategies for recovering assets for commercial creditors holding judgments. Together, working hand in hand, they have recovered millions of dollars in judgments.
